We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of longtime Board Member, William M. “Mike” McCormick, a man who left an indelible mark on Rice Community Healthcare. Mike’s dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and quality in Rice County have profoundly impacted our organization and the communities we serve.
George Stover, CEO, remarked, ‘Mike has served as a Board Member for 6 years, and I’m thankful for his outstanding leadership, guidance, and friendship.’ Stover recounted the regular meetings with Mike, stating, “Every few months, Mike would stop by the hospital to catch up, and we’d end up talking strategizing ways to improve and make Rice Community Healthcare the best place to get healthcare in Central Kansas.” Stover emphasized Mike’s desire for progress, saying, ‘He would have wanted us to keep moving forward with our vision for the hospital and clinics, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
Mike played a vital role on the finance committee of the board, where his expertise and strategic insights were invaluable in guiding the fiscal direction and sustainability of Rice Community Healthcare.
