Our team of Physicians offers family-centered maternity care through every stage of pregnancy, delivery and into subsequent years for the child and their family. Doctors Kristina Darnauer, Stacy Dashiell, James Decker and Roger Klein are known for their highly relational, sensitive and expert approach to maternity care.

Studies show that women who have the assistance of a midwife are less likely to require labor induction, pain medication o
r other medical interventions during delivery. The Family Birth Center at Rice County District Hospital provides the option for a nurse midwife and doctor combined medical team. Certified Nurse Midwife, Melissa Conard is dedicated to fulfilling her patients’ birth plan, while ensuring the health and safety of both mother and child.
In addition, Rice County District Hospital physicians provide support to Lois Yoder and Angel Schmutz, Certified Nurse Midwives, who provide care at Birth and Women’s Healthcare in Yoder, KS.
